On Saturday, September 4, the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles will take on the Arkansas Razorbacks. For each of these teams for the 2010 season, this game will be the season opener. To show the nation that they are ready to play, both teams will be anxious.

Tennessee Tech is one of many teams from Tennessee in that conference and it plays in the OVC. In 2009, Tennessee had a decent year, but will have a tough time dealing with a team like Arkansas. Tennessee Tech did not face a single top 25 team, last season. As Arkansas is ranked 17th in the nation, this year they will have the opportunity to do so on the first week.

Out of the SEC, Arkansas is one of the many great teams. That record can be misleading, although they had a record of 8-5 last season. 4 of their 5 losses came against top 25 teams. They lost just one game while winning 7, outside of teams in the top 25.

Arkansas will need to step it up against those high ranked teams, if they hope to compete this year. As they will play teams such as Georgia, Alabama, Auburn and LSU, they will have plenty of opportunity.

Last year, Arkansas had no problem disposing of teams like Tennessee Tech. when Saturday comes around, look for these guys to be ready to take care of business. When they have so many tough teams ahead, they can’t afford losses against easy teams.

The Army Black Nights will take on the Eastern Michigan Eagles to start off the 2010 season for these two programs. The game will take place on the home turf of Eastern Michigan as they try to shake off a season to forget from 2009. Football odds fans also hope for a better show in 2010.

2009 Certainly did not treat Eastern Michigan very well. The Eagles were pounded all year long. They didn’t seem to have very many answers on offense or on defense. Last year the team scored just 16 points a game while surrendering 37 points per game. They truly struggled to succeed in any facet of the game during 2009.

Army did not have an amazing season in 2009, but they certainly saw more success than the Eagles did. Army is an independent team and does not have a conference. They finished 2009 with a 5-7 record on the season.

There is no question as to what the focus of Army is going to be before each game. To say that Army has a one sided attack is an understatement. Army rushed for more than 200 yards per game in 2009. This is an excellent total and was good enough for 16th in the nation. However, their passing game was awful. They managed to pass for just 71 yards per game on the season.

This game plan keeps a lot of games close, as the clock is run down. However, if the score gets out of hand it puts Army in a bad situation for playing “catch up.” It is difficult to come from behind without a passing attack.

Before heading back to the U.S. Open, Melanie Oudin was hoping to get in a few more matches, where she was a fan favorite last year during a surprising run to the quarterfinals.

At the Pilot Pen on Monday, the 18-year-old Oudin disappointed the sparse crowd, losing in the opening round of the tune-up tournament, 6-2, 5-7, 6-4, to lucky loser Dominka Cibulkova. Oudin said she’s happy with how she’s been progressing this season, and she isn’t getting impatient with herself. She pointed out she’s still the youngest player ranked in the top 100.

After being down one set, Nadia Petrova rallied to 5-2 in the second to beat American Varvara Lepchenko 1-6, 7-5, 6-1. Russian Dinara Safina upset French Open champion Francesca Schiavone 1-6, 6-3, 6-1. Safina has been hampered all year by a back injury and her win came less than a week after she lost in straight sets to Schiavone in Montreal. Ana Ivanovic was forced to withdraw, due to an ankle injury and Petrova was a late addition.

Elena Dementieva had to be tracked down on the practice courts and she almost missed the start of her early first-round match. Under threatening skies, she then went out and beat Spaniard Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez 6-1, 6-2.

James Blake beat Pere Riba of Spain 6-0, 6-1 in just 35 minutes and made the fastest completed match on the ATP Tour this season, beating Stephane Robert of France 6-1, 6-2. American Donald Young also had an easy first round. Taylor Dent beat Eduardo Schwank of Argentina 7-6, 4-6, 6-0.

In the second round, Cibulkova moves on to face two-time defending champion Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark. On Monday, Wozniacki was still in Montreal, where she played two matches, winning the rain-delayed Rogers Cup 6-3, 6-2 over Vera Zvonareva.

A gambling addict has decided to sue the British Columbia Lottery Corporation. This case is the first of its kind in British Columbia.

Joyce May Ross, 54, has filed a lawsuit in B.C. Supreme Court that alleges that the lottery corporation was negligent in its practices. The British Columbia Lottery Corporation owns the two casinos she frequents.

The woman took initiative and enrolled in a program aimed at helping individuals steer clear of gambling and online gambling facilities. Despite being enrolled in the self-exclusion program offered by the BCLC, she was still able to frequently visit the casinos. She feels that the program fell short in helping her work through her gambling addiction.

The self-exclusion program involves the usage surveillance to monitor the activity of known compulsive gamblers. Once compulsive gamblers are identified, the casino security staff is supposed to quickly act to remove the individual from the facility. As a deterrent, fines can be issued in the amount of $5,000 to compulsive gamblers caught in the act.

During her three years of participation in the program, the woman gambled away over $330,000. “I was totally out of control, and I knew I needed help,” she tells CBC News.

Ross hopes to recover money lost during her years of participation in the self-exclusion program. She is also seeking damages.

Ohio residents will soon have a new way to spend their money: feeding the one-armed bandit, who frequent one of seven horse tracks supervised by the state’s Lottery Commission. Now that the last of the legal challenges has been dropped, plans to install more than 17,000 video slot machines at the tracks can move forward.

To force a referendum on the November ballot, ballot issue PAC LetOhioVote.org previously succeeded in collecting enough signatures, challenging the government’s plan to install the slot machines, but on Monday the group reversed course and requested that Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner remove the referendum. Cited as reasons for the group’s actions, a threat by Governor Ted Strickland to seek court relief and last year’s passage of a constitutional amendment legalizing gambling in the state.

Though the fight may not be over, as a question still remains whether the Ohio Lottery Commission has the constitutional authority to operate video slot machines. The group recognizes their best hope to stop the slots resides in the court system, according to a letter written to Brunner by LetOhioVote member Tom Brinkman.

“We successfully defended Ohioans’ referendum rights with our victory in the Ohio Supreme Court last year, and then the voters approved a casino gambling amendment,” he wrote. “With our primary goals accomplished, it seems imprudent to proceed with a campaign that can be easily rendered moot by a court decision or by new legislation authorizing ” slots.”

Brenden Schaub will square off against Chris Tuchsherer on July 3rd at the upcoming UFC 116 event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. These two Heavyweight fighters should provide a good deal of entertainment as they face off.
These two fighters vary in experience, but both fighters have the tools and abilities to fight with the best of them at a high level. These two fighters both possess thunderous blows and should provide for a good old fashioned slugfest when July 3rd rolls around.

Brendan Schaub is 5-1 in his mixed martial arts career to this point. He is most well-known for his appearance on “The Ultimate Fighter” season 10. Schaub had a good showing on “TUF” but he was not able to come out as the winner despite being a heavy favorite towards the beginning. Despite the disappointing outcome on TUF, recently he has shown what he is made of in the UFC. In his last fight, he knocked out Chase Gormley in the first round of his UFC match.

Tuchscherer is a very experienced fighter that has seen a whole lot of success to this point in his career. He sports a record of 18-2 to this point. He does have one poor spot on his record. He was beaten pretty badly by Gabriel Gonzaga last August.
He has since bounced back though with a victory over Tim Hague in UFC 109.

His victory was not extremely convincing, but it will be good for his confidence to have collected a win after his disappointing performance in August.

Several top players have seen their hopes of claiming the championship cut short, as the second week of the French Open begins. On the men’s and women’s sides of the Roland Garros draws, there has been a few upsets.

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have cruised to the quarterfinals without dropping a single set, on the men’s side. In the final, the top two seeds of the tournament are expected to battle it out. The biggest upset so far was when Tomas Berdych eliminated number four seed Andy Murray in the fourth round in straight sets. However, at this year’s French Open, Murray’s first round five set victory was a sign of his fragility.

When when number seven seed Fernando Verdasco lost to fellow Spaniard Nicolas Almagro in four sets,it was another fourth round upset. On Nadal’s side of the draw, Verdasco was the only true threat. In the third round, American Andy Roddick lost to Gabashvilli in three sets. But this is not surprising considering that, at the French Open, Roddick has never made it past the fourth round.

As Justine Henin lost to Samantha Stosur in three sets, the women’s side has seen the biggest upset of the tournament. To win the title, Henin was a strong contender, as the French crowd was eager to see her win another Roland Garros after coming back from retirement. As the second week starts, the bottom draw is wide open as second seed Venus Williams was knocked out in the fourth round by Nadia Petrova. First seed Serena Williams has comfortably advanced to the second week of the 2010 French Open, besides a three set stumble in the third round. You can get on with the action at your favorite online sportsbook and casino.

Bob Baffert had been looking for redemption in the running of 135th Preakness at Pimlico Park. The Juvenile and at Santa Anita and had another a bad trip in the run for the roses at the 2010 Kentucky derby, while the derby horse racing odds favorite, Lookin At Lucky, was plagued by bad luck in the Breeders cup. Baffert seriously considered returning to California and rest the horse after he was hit into the rail twice at Churchill downs on a, sloppy, muddy track.

As the 9-5 favorite after winning the derby with a 2 1/2 length lead, Super Saver, the derby winner, came to the Preakness. He ended up eighth in the Preakness and was only the third derby winner to finish off the board in eighteen years although he ran a good race.

Baffert decided to run the horse and changed jockeys, pulling Garret Gomez and instating Martin Garcia in a move Baffert said was to “change the horses luck” after a week of indecision.

Lookin At Lucky stayed with the pace behind First Dude and Super Saver, leaving from the 7th post in the 12 horse field. Lookin At Lucky, passed the early leaders, Caracotado, Jackson Bend and Super Saver who was starting to run out of gas at the back stretch.

He passed First Dude and Jackson Bend in front of the grandstand and with three sixteenths of a mile to go, and held the lead against a coming First Dude crossing the finish line for a seventh win in ten starts.

Whether or not you follow online gambling, you have probably heard of some of the legislation surrounding. the online gambling scene is tricky because some states allow it while others do no, in the US. For online sports betting sites, this makes an odd predicament, who sometimes allow players from the USA and sometimes don’t.

Because of the trickiness of online gambling in the United States, there are a lot of pros and cons to be considered.

It is an extremely convenient to get online and enjoy the benefits of online sports betting, in a state that has legalized gambling. You don’t have to worry about your physical presence or exposed to other people’s second hand smoke or mannerisms, when you gamble online. If you are a U.S. player then a lot of bonuses and promotions are offered online. In 1998, the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, was passed to take control of gambling on Indian Reservations and is still in effect today.

When a state allows and approves online gambling, it can be a great way to raise revenue for the state. To help the local population, this revenue can be used by the government. This income can be put to very good uses, if regulated right.

There is a chance you will become addicted to it, the obvious disadvantages to any type of gambling or you will lose a large sum of money. If you attempt to join online sports betting sites while living in a state where it is outlawed, you can get into a lot of legal trouble. To the American population, it is not that accessible. before attempting to get involved as these are things you likely do not want to deal with, make sure you know the local regulations on online gambling

The Canadian Gaming Summit’s 3 day conference is scheduled to occur April26th – April 28th, 2010, in Calgary, Alberta. For the Canadian gaming industry, this is their biggest yearly event and Calgary is hosting the event for the first time.

People in the gaming industry from all over North America gather at this event. Participants include suppliers, industry players, casino owners and people who are into internet betting.

Vice President of the Canadian Gaming Commission, Paul Burns, stated that there was a cross-section of people that are attracted to the event. Burns also said that the industry is growing, and their are various non gaming amenities available that enhances the experience. He gave spas, entertainment options, and hotels as examples.

There will be more than 88 exhibits on display for viewing. The Summit gives vendors opportunities to participate on the trade show floor. It also provides educational programs and social activities for employees in the gaming industry.

Most of the talk at the summit will be maximizing profits. There will be some attention drawn to problem gamblers.

The Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation has an item on display called SafetyCheck. It is software that filters websites for gaming. Spokesman for the company, Margaret Mc-Gee, said that building a responsible gaming industry was their mandate, because teenagers are more likely to visit the offshore websites for gaming.

Internet gaming will be a topic of discussion at the event. Burns stated that 1 billion dollars is being spent by Canadians on online gaming and all of the money is going to offshore companies.
